BaBa in Pink

Soon after we started our adoption journey and learned there were so many waiting children in China, we decided to drop our gender and age criteria and to be open to a waiting child. We didn't make any preparations to the bedroom, which would be our child's, because there were too many possibilities..... color and decor would be vastly different depending on the child.

Once we found our daughter on our agency's special need list and were matched, I began polling neighborhood girls around her age about their preferred colors. Hot pink seemed to be the favorite! We chose two Disney shades of pink carried by BEHR - "Pretty as a Princess" and "Sleeping Beauty Pink". This is way too much fun! Jerry now has specks of hot pink on his sneakers (yes, he wore them to work!) and you can see his new blue jean design as well!

I must say I have been so incredibly blessed on this journey as I witnss families who were all set for an infant girl - feel a tug to request a waiting special needs boy and are repainting their pink rooms for their BOY! Others, who had an arsenal of baby clothes, are bringing home a 2, 3, or 4 year old+ and are having fun giving the baby clothes as gifts to folks with infants. The docility to God's plans is truly inspiring. "Whoever welcomes one of these little ones in My Name, welcomes Me." For us the welcome includes painting the walls hot pink!
