We learn more about our Daughter - so Blessed by "Blessed Kids"!!! The Grandma connection!

This is a photo of JunFen's Grandma who will travel with me (June's mom) to China to bring our gal home. It's amazing to find out that a foster Grandma has been such a part of our gal's life in China...another "red thread'.

A dear woman adopting a special needs child through our agency let me know that I ought to have the Chinese documents on our daughter translated - that she had some Chinese friends look at the documents on her child, and they found so much more info and details on her son that were not translated in her English document.

I contacted "Angel" Adele at Blessed Kids (http://www.blessedkids.com/) and used her translation services. What treasures were found in a few pages of our daughter's documents! Here are a few:

- Our daughter was found at an aquarium park in the Jiang'an District of Wuhan City. This aquarium was famous for holding a rare fresh water porpose from the Yangtze river.

- "Jun" was the first name given to every child who was found in the month of September. The second part of her name "Fen" was given to her to "convey our wishes that she will send forth sweet fragrance like flowers and that she will grow up healthy." (What a precious wish!)

- JunFen would smile occasionally at age 3 months, even though she had a terrible time with her feeding because of her cleft palate!

- We learned of the affection and concern the orphanage had for our girl..."in order for little Junfen to get better care, we sent her to a foster family...".

- At one year of age - "if people played with her, she would smile or laugh..."

- This is hysterical...got to love the translation.... "When she was one year old and 4 months ...She had a strong personalit , and sometimes put on a fierce and malicious expression to try to frighten the adults. When you asked her if she was full, she would pat her stomach and smile..."

- When she was two years old..."she could make people happy."

- When she was 3 years old she began to attend kindergarten (daycare???)...she liked to RUN instead of walk (oh, what a trooper - with her scoliosis and all!!!); she would help her foster mom with simple housework, such as cleaning floors (..at 3 years of age!!!), She would say "Please take a seat (foster), Grandma" or "Please drop into visit us tomorrow". She would take initiative to greet others....(at 3-years of age - I have a diplomat in the making!)

- When she was 4 years old, she could ride a child's tricycle (this little one refuses to be limited by her sn!).

- This I love - ANOTHER similarity to her BaBa..."Whatever she does, she does it carefully and seriously"....and get this...."She always puts the peels into the garbage cans whenever she finishes the fruit!" My little neat freak - just like Daddy!

- Here's another quality: "She respects the elderly and loves little ones. When her foster grandma was ill, she would serve Grandma with tea or water and pound her back and waist gently, just like a grown-up." (I have a little saint for a daughter!!)

- She recites nursery rhymes like "A Cute Rabbit" and does "gymnastic movements" while singing (another trait /gift of Daddy)!

- "She is thirsty for knowledge and will ask questions whenever she has any. She likes to play all the games that children her age like to play."

- She can feed herself using chopsticks. (Imagine a 3 foot tall girl getting her own meals - she's amazing). The foods she likes are as follows... (please send me recipes!!!!)

The love and affection the foster family and orphanage director have for this little gal is evident. We hope to honor the wonderful attributes they have instilled in our daughter and to raise her to have great pride and affection about her childhood in China. We can't wait to start our family life together, JunFen!
