I met with our Social Worker and Bethany's MN branch international adoption supervisor to discuss the long wait ahead of us. I wanted to explore - for my own peace of mind - if there are other countries to consider with a shorter waiting time. I actually felt relieved that for our particular circumstances, it seems the best thing (our decision, of course) is to keep our hearts set on China. After reviewing the options, it's as if God hit me upside the head and said "trust Me!". I think my biggst concern is being an older parent. However, there are really so many of us that feel called to adopt later in life. As a dear email adoption group partner reminded me - we may not be a physically up to the challenge of a new little one - but psychologically we are in a way better place. We've learned not to sweat the small stuff - that's huge. Jerry was relieved when I reported to him that it seems China is the country for us. Indeed, God must have our little one already in mind - we only need trust, let go and let Him shape our lives. I have a new sense of joy and peace that He is with us each day of our wait.

Karin & Jerry,
Larry and I will be keeping you in our prayers during this process. We have a couple in our home fellowship group that is on the same journey, except their children will be coming from Russia, so we are familiar with the huge amounts of detailed paperwork you have gone through! Kathy are Erik are hoping for 2 siblings, and are also in the time of waiting for a referral.
We hope you are doing well...say hi to your mom for us.
